What llms.txt does on Shopify (and what it does not)
llms.txt is a plain-text file at the root of a site. The proposed format, documented at llmstxt.org, gives AI systems a short, curated map of what the site is and which pages matter. On a Shopify store that usually means brand, products, collections, and a few policy or about pages.
It is an AEO (answer engine) signal. It is not a Google ranking factor. Installing an llms.txt app will not move you in organic search by itself.
